This event on 27 March will present ongoing Turing research mapping and assessing the role of individual standards for operationalising the UK’s AI regulation principles. The presentation will be followed by an expert panel discussion exploring the research and the role of standards in the UK’s AI regulatory approach.

Publication of DSIT’s Introduction to AI Assurance
The Department for Science, Innovation & Technology (DSIT) has published its Introduction to AI Assurance, an introductory guide for practitioners interested in finding out how assurance techniques can support the development of responsible AI. It features a spotlight on the AI Standards Hub and its resources including the training platform, standards database, and regular events.
Our online training resources cover topics such as processes of developing and using standards, best practices for AI, and wider AI governance. BSI’s three-part Introduction to Standards course is designed to help you understand the role and purpose of standards in the modern world, and how they can help with the goal of ensuring responsible AI with a positive economic and social impact.
The standard ISO/IEC DIS 42005 provides guidance on how organisations can develop and integrate impact assessment processes when developing, providing, or using AI systems. It is open for comment until 26 March.
