The partners of the AI Standards Hub (AISH) have announced the next phase of the initiative. Going forward, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the British Standards Institution (BSI) will be leading the AISH, building on the strong foundations established to date and helping to ensure the Hub continues to support the UK’s leadership in trustworthy AI standards, measurement and assurance.

The Alan Turing Institute is stepping back from its leadership role in the AISH as it transitions to a new mission focussed on AI for national resilience. In March we announced UKAS joining the AI Standards Hub partnership, bringing the perspective of the UK’s national accreditation body and its expertise in accreditation and conformity assessment to the Hub’s work. As a Hub partner UKAS will also be able share the valuable learning and insights it has gained through its complementary work on the AI Quality Infrastructure Consortium (AIQI), alongside NPL and BSI. Together, these activities will help create a joined-up ecosystem for AI.
