On 3 November, BSI hosted The Digital World webinar which explored current and future standards for AI, including an introduction to the new AI management system standard ISO/IEC 42001.
ISO/IEC 42001 specifies the requirements and provides guidance for establishing and continually improving an organisation’s AI management system. This document is designed to help organisations of all types and sizes develop or use AI systems responsibly in pursuing their objectives, meeting applicable regulatory requirements and obligations to interested parties.
In a joint presentation, Paul Cotton, the convenor of SC 42 Working Group 1 on AI Foundational Standards explains how ISO/IEC 42001 would be used by an organisation. Marta Janczarski, Technical Diplomat at Microsoft, and project editor for ISO/IEC 42001 builds on this to explain how the standard would interact externally for certification and assurance.
To discuss this standard with the community and find further resources, visit the AI Standards Hub forum.
The commenting period for 42001 for the UK closed earlier this week. If you still have not had a chance to submit your comments there are still a couple of days to do it. Please contact me and I can send the relevant forms – [email protected].
